House Tour: Flo's Cape Cod Retreat Yzerfontein, South Africa

Flo and her husband are originally from Mauritius and the French flair is very present in their nest . When they relocated to South Africa they moved to Cape Town but they always longed for a life closer to nature. This piece of paradise with a view of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean was intended as a holiday home but soon became their permanent residence.

As a retired Interior Designer, Flo has made their home her final project and her love for design, textures and colors are on display every where. Her home is a rich tapestry of treasures collected from years of traveling and living in different locations, and she dreams of living in the South of France some day soon. These days, she paints and her inspiration comes mainly from the breathtaking views from the balcony — especially during September and October when the Humpback Whales frolic in the waves.

Yzerfontein

Yzerfontein is the sleepy west coast village where I live.

Eighty kilometres up the west coast road from Cape Town, it is the most beautiful beach hide-away with wide stretches of snow white sand running down to a turquoise sea.
