THE malls — and shoppers — are under siege. But big business, consumer groups and the police are preparing to fight back against the violent criminals targeting shopping centres.

The Consumer Goods Council of SA revealed yesterday that, last month alone, a shocking 25 robberies at malls around the country were recorded.
Three people were killed in seven robberies in the past nine days at Gauteng shopping centres.
